A little About Me

As a drummer, I design my sound to enhance and emphasis vocals or other musicians. I pride myself in the development of foundational percussion skills or “chops.” I continuously educate myself in the art & science of rudiments, dynamics, and composition. I currently play with Capital Cities, an international touring pop band, and Scavenger Hunt, an 80’s-influenced pop band. Both bands integrate electronic and acoustic drums which allowed me to coordinate both sounds.

I began drumming at a young age. As the son of a Chicago Blue’s musician, I was always exposed to live music. In middle and high school, I played and later captained the drumline. This allowed me to cultivated skills in composition and charting percussion instruments. Additionally, this built strong interpersonal skills, which are vital for long-term musical partnerships. Throughout the years, I have been fortunate to write, practice, perform, and record with bands in a multitude of genres. In the 1990’s, I played in punk bands. Around 2003, I transitioned to the fast, intricate playing of metal. Throughout the 2000’s and 2010’s, I toggled gigs between country, funk, pop, pop-rock, and soul bands.

Genres I play:

  • pop
  • rock
  • country
  • metal
  • jazz-fusion
  • soul
  • blues
